JOLIE HOLLAND ON TOUR SUPPORTING AUGIE MARCH AUGUST 2006.
It is with the greatest pleasure that Billions Australia announce the complete Australian tour for Jolie Holland.
Already announced to be performing at some of Australia’s finest theatres with the superb Augie March, Jolie plays a few of her own shows which will go on sale from Friday 14th July.
The tour supports the recent release of Jolie’s second studio album, “Springtime Can Kill You” which is a 12 track song-cycle—a crossroads where haunting meets joyful—a voice from the heavens singing stories of the underworld. Holland’s songs rise and fall like heavy eyelids and convey the peace of that place between asleep and awake, creating a special place for you to be; a place where sounds from past and present-tense waltz together to a never-ending melody that flickers between folk, jazz, blues and pop. As with all good dreams, there is an anything-goes spirit leading the way.
As anyone who saw her playing in Australia touring on her first studio album “ESCONDIDA” will testify, Jolie’s live show is both moving and magnificent and this time she’s here just in time to warn you about all about Spring on her “Springtime Can Kill You” Tour.
